Some packaging lines require that cartons be up-ended (flipped on their edges) for staging into a case packing machine. Other applications require a case flipper to present the correct carton face to a barcode or label applicator. Case flippers are also used simply for space-savings in that a greater number of erected cartons can accumulate on a line if they are flipped into their slimmest orientation.
