Conveyance & Product Flow

Conveyance is more than moving product from point A to point B. It determines how well your entire packaging line performs. When product flow is inconsistent—misaligned transfers, poor spacing, elevation mismatches—those issues carry downstream. Cartoners slow down. Inspection becomes unreliable. Operators have to step in.

Kraken designs conveyance as part of a coordinated system, ensuring products move where they need to be—at the  needs of your product, the container or case, at the right height, speed, spacing, and orientation. So while conveyors are a part of most every solution Kraken creates, it isn’t how we define what we do.

When Conveyance Breaks Down

Most packaging issues don’t start at the cartoner or case packer—they start with how product gets there. Common problems we solve include:

  • Height mismatches between conveyors and equipment
  • Inconsistent product spacing and flow rates
  • Poorly timed transfers between machines
  • Accumulation that creates pressure or gaps
  • Layout constraints that disrupt line balance

These aren’t conveyor problems. They’re system problems—and they require a system-level solution.

Designed as Part of the System

Kraken doesn’t approach conveyance as isolated equipment. Every conveyor, transfer, and accumulation point is designed to support how the full line operates.

We coordinate:

  • Conveyor elevations and transitions between machines
  • Product spacing and rate control
  • Accumulation strategy and release timing
  • Transfers into and out of packaging equipment
  • Integration with inspection and downstream processes

Whether working with new equipment or existing OEM machines, the goal is the same: keep product flow stable, controlled, and synchronized.

What This Delivers

Stable, Controlled Product Movement. Conveyors must work so that products remain properly positioned and supported through transitions, reducing tipping, shifting, or damage.

Consistent Flow Into Packaging. Conveyors must work so that products arrive to downstream equipment at the correct rate and spacing—supporting continuous operation.

Fewer Disruptions. Conveyors can help eliminate misalignment and poorly managed flow reduces jams, stops, and operator intervention.

Better Line Performance. When conveyance is designed correctly, the entire line runs more predictably—with improved throughput and uptime.

Built Around Real Production Conditions

Every solution we build is different. Conveyance is just part of a solution, we solve line problems based on:

  • Product characteristics (bags, boxes, bottles, clamshells)
  • Line speed and throughput requirements
  • Facility layout and constraints
  • Integration with upstream and downstream systems

This ensures conveyance supports the line—not limits it.

When to Bring Kraken In

  • You’re seeing frequent jams or inconsistent flow
  • Equipment isn’t running at expected speeds
  • Transfers between machines are unreliable
  • You’re adding new equipment to an existing line
  • Layout or elevation constraints are limiting performance

Let's Assess How Your Line Moves

If product flow is limiting your packaging performance, it’s time to look beyond individual conveyors.

The Kraken Approach to Integration

Kraken does more than supply equipment—we coordinate the entire solution so your line operates as one seamless system. We integrate new and existing machines, design transfer and conveyor elements, align product handling, and synchronize controls from upstream to downstream. The goal isn’t just installation—it’s reliable, high-performance operation.
